SAMU’É suit ~ the Samu’é is not a ceremonial robe but the simple ensemble worn by Japanese Zen monks while attending to duties in the temple and temple gardens, practising active meditation and awareness. A simple, comfortable, loose-fitting cotton garment, composed of loose trousers secured by ties (which may be replaced by elastic, if preferred) at the waist and ankles, and a jacket, with a small inside pocket, also secured by two sets of ties, it is particularly suitable for wear during meditation or yoga, the practice of Tai’chi Chuan, or as a comfortable and practical form of leisure wear. This is not fashion wear and a loose, comfortable fit is desirable. Not suitable for heavy Martial Arts such as Aikido, Judo, Karate, etc.
